Do not fall into the trap of thinking that the only way to bring about change and progress at a top level comes from something external. Like a course, a coach, a guide, etc.
There’s a critical ingredient that promotes your abilities and challenges your capabilities. This key also stimulates healthy change and progress.
All while preserving your core.
Your core identity.
The key is in defining objectives.
In past letters, we talked about intentions.
Objectives are similar to intentions. They have outcomes in common, but objectives are traced by small actionable steps to reach the desired outcomes.
While this is not the simplest task in the world. It’s one of the most meaningful ones. It shows respect for individual initiatives and feeds your personal growth, and towards building something new.
A new career, a new hobby, a new relationship, you name it, you can define objectives for it.
Even this email has an objective. To encourage you to define objectives for yourself to build a life you love.
Doesn’t it sound nice? Yes, I know and I only wish it were that easy…
Aside from goals and clear objectives, defining and setting them requires aggressiveness and self-confidence. It requires alignment with who you think you are (right now) and what the person after the end goals are met will be (future).
It’s a dance. A dance between “numbers and values”.
Is it easy? Not particularly.
Is it worthy? No question about it.
Alignment is a funny thing, you know? Like a car it gets its service done the tires are aligned but once the car hits the road little by little it gets out of alignment. And needs service again.
Where do you get your service down? Weird question, but maybe you get the gist of it. Let me try again, Where do you go to find some clarity? Nature? Books? Writing in a blank page or doc?
There’s no one size fits all.
It is a matter of committing to continual self-improvement to overcome adversities. To build the character that in return will lead the way to reach our most desired objectives.
Go the last mile to do things right, and seek to defeat the things that hinder all your undertakings.
You and I are in the business of improving human life, but we got to start with ours. Let’s get clear on where is it that you are going, and where you want to take this journey.
This is an individual opportunity and is rewarded based on merit.
Set the objective and trace it back to the core.
You.
Alignment.
This is how we end to begin.
The beginning is exciting, but at some point it ends. We move forward.
Now, where do we go from here?
much love,
J.
